We price on evidence,
and the wedge opens a standard.
Where verifiable custody records go next, and why aviation baggage is the place to prove them first.
Lifecycle records are becoming mandatory
The EU Digital Product Passport is making lifecycle records mandatory for physical goods, category by category. Pharma transport, aerospace parts and luxury provenance already require custody proof.
Every one of those categories has the same shape as a mishandled bag: several parties, separate records, and a moment where money changes hands and nobody can agree on what happened. The layer that settles it has to be independent of all of them.
Aviation baggage is the proving ground for the evidence standard, not the end market.
One node has work behind it
These are categories where the custody problem has the same shape, not products, commitments or dates. Only the aviation node is being built. Everything else on this grid is a hypothesis about where the standard could travel if the wedge works.

The wedge
Signed handovers across airline, handler and insurer, and one evidence pack per disputed bag.
- Air cargo
Freight handovers
Shipper, forwarder, handler and carrier, where damage and loss claims run on the same email archaeology.
- Cold chain
Unbroken custody
Transport where a break in custody is the claim, and every party keeps a separate log of it.
- Pharma transport
Regulated proof
Named in the Digital Product Passport work as a category that already requires custody proof.
- Aerospace parts
Part provenance
Part history and MRO handovers, where provenance is already a condition of installation.
- Luxury & resale
Ownership history
Provenance and authenticity records, where the record is a large share of the value.
- Art logistics
Condition and handover
Courier, storage and venue transfers, documented as signed events rather than emailed photographs.
- Medical devices
Lifecycle records
Service history and custody events across hospitals, distributors and service providers.
- Equipment rental
Condition on return
Who had the asset, when, and in what condition, which is the whole of most rental disputes.
Prove it on
one corridor first.
Nothing above happens without the first paid pilot. That is the only thing being built right now, and it is what the rest of this page depends on.
